![]() Neera just feels both out of place and underwhelming compared to Milla which feels broken and fun to play as 50% of the time.Ĭarol even in FP1 felt much crappier designed than Lilac. ![]() The most fun and useful characters were the OP ones which could manage themselves in any situation meaning Sonic & Tails which could take an infinite amount of hits without requiring a mushroom, over just situational ones where you're begging for a health power up. Some like Arthur however completely decimated due to his quick range attacks, but he couldn't jump on enemies' heads. The most suited for most platforming levels were character that could jump on enemies' heads like Sonic & Mario. I played Mushroom Kingdom Fusion where it was a mess of level design and a huge amount of characters. I actually kinda enjoy her as an experiment, like having the ability to jump on enemies' heads in Megaman. Personally I wouldn't have made her a playable character in either games >Milla is clearly designed for a different game, and thus either annihilates bosses or gets annihilated. If he was an earth dragon he instantly would have knew who Torque, Lilac, Brevon, Pangu were. And it still was a massive asspull to turn him into a dragon, when originally he was a duck. The Magister especially feels pretentious because he acts as the narrator. They feel incredibly cheesy and comedy relief compared to the other characters. Zao and the rest feel like they come from a different much more light-hearted show like Charlie's Angels or some shit. Neera, Dail and the Magister also feel different from Spade, Milla, Carol, Lilac, Zao, Gong, Torque The intro scene with Brevon really feels like a much edgier video game than it actually is. Syntax also is played completely tone-deaf from the rest of the atmosphere compared to Serpentine. Merga also didn't do that despite the fact she had far far far more incompetent lackeys working for her than Brevon did. Serpentine still comes off as incompetent because he jobs to the heroes, but he's that type of villain like Mr Bison in Gunstar Heroes who comes back as a much harsher boss near the end.Īnd again I appreciate the fact Strife avoided the whole cliche bullshit with "You failed me for the last time" which only comes off as making the big bad more incompetent and seething and blaming his own faults on his minions. Just like Serpentine is really easy to write and I actually appreciated the fact Strife didn't try to separate him into two characters "actual competent lieutenant and then cowardly sneaky douchebag" like say Tron Uprising. It's much easier to write Zurg/Shredder than a character like Mewtwo. Merga tries to ape Mewtwo but feels and is written like garbage because Mewtwo is a much more complex character to write.īrevon is just a typical Zurg/Shredder type that ironically has better speeches than Merga(Mewtwo didn't appear as seething like Merga, the voice actress also isn't a good fit if you want an eloquent character) It makes Shadow the Hedgehog and Sonic Adventure 1 & 2 look like they have good writing. And then she throws a hidden bomb at her which doesn't kill her but paralyzes her and again Strife is such an idiot at writing that instead of making it seem like Merga wanted to force kidnap Lilac, it comes off as Merga purposefully poisoning Lilac instead of paralyzing her.Īnd then there's also that retawded scene with Serpentine and Milla where it makes slightly more sense when you play as Milla because Syntax forces Milla to use some sort of psychic power to almost kill her friends, but again it only lasts for like 10 seconds before anything happens.Īnd again the way Neera reacts to Milla after finding out Milla is an alien is uncharacteristically calm of her after her fissy fit with calling Carol a traitor, being pissed off Askal betrayed, assuming Lilac will join Merga, not trusting Spade, calling everyone by their species rather than their name. I'm surprised Merga even bothered reaching out to her to "talk", but the writing was so shit she said like 2-3 lines that made no sense and went "lol come join me", Strife is terrible at flirting.
